In My Jeans

"It's in my genes, " I'd often say

When asked about the way I'd pray

Or how I'd hold my head just so

And how I'd nod and say ,"Hello!"

"It's in my genes"

Not the genes that most would think

Gave eyes of hazel, and skin so pink

My mom's the Jean that I think of

Who gave me life with all her love

"It's in my Jeans"

When looking at reflected face

As years pass by, with age I'm graced

I smile and nod at what I see

My moms sweet face smiles back from me

"It's in my Jeans"

A Soul Has Passed

A soul has passed from this green earth

A soul which I did not give birth

But never more a child was she

Than one I birthed myself, to me

She was the joy of every day

She made us laugh when she would play

Or look at us as if to say

"What can I give to you today?"

Never a friend as loyal as she

Truth was all she knew to be

When she would smile and look my way

I knew it was our time to play

God made heaven for man to live

I pray that there a home He'd give

A place for souls that have her worth

A place that's better than on this earth

I hope to see her in that place

Goodbye sweet Chow, my BabyFace

Christmas Memories

My house yearns for Christmas cheer

To be bedecked from here to here

Christmas love and comfort too

Is what I wish to give to you

A fireplace warm to snuggle up

Christmas snacks and Christmas cup

Mellow Christmas music low

Dreams of Christmas long ago

When we were children bright and fair

With dreams of presents by the pair

Each and every sound we heard

Was surely Santas reindeer herd

Plummeting from sky to earth

To bring us joy on Jesus birth
